It’s just past midnight. There are no cars left in the parking lot - the last one left an hour ago. What was once a lively evening full of laughs and a busy barista din, now remains an empty space filled only with silence. ⁣

Within the darkness, however, appears the Lonely Ghost. They have long since forgotten their name. Their memories of their previous life have faded with the passage of time. It has possibly been centuries since they started appearing. They don’t remember how they ended up here, but now it’s considered home to them.⁣

Hours go by and their favorite time has arrived, sunrise. Once the sun has fully risen they will disappear once again, but they never seem to mind. For the Lonely Ghost it means a new day and new beginnings. A restart to their cycle. While they’ll never get to experience the world of the living again, they’ll at least exist in the memories left behind. Beauty often comes from darkness, and as they fade into the morning light, they smile. ...
